Summary of Unit / InquiryThis first unit of inquiry for students in World History I focuses on how the Ancient Greeks developed innovations and concepts that have had a lasting effect on civilization since the Renaissance and the modern age. We will examine how the cultural, philosophical, and technological contributions of the Ancient Greeks influenced and affected other cultures. This unit will be thematically linked to the following unit on the Greek city-state, which focuses on Greek ideas about society and government. Throughout the unit, students will use critical thinking skills to synthesize their learning and make connections between Greek culture and Western culture today.
